Celebrate the Finn in you!

The Finnish-Canadian Grand Festival is an annual celebration of Finnish culture and heritage. First held in 1940, it takes place in a different Canadian community each year, allowing Canadian Finns and their guests to get to know different regions of the country. The event offers the Finns living in North America the opportunity to come together and cherish the Finnish tradition and also introduce Finnish culture to Canadians.

This year the festival is held in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The Finnish Canadian Cultural Federation in partnership with the Finlandia Association will host Finn Festival 2016 on June 24-26, at multiple locations in Thunder Bay including the historic site, The Finnish Labour Temple.

The Festival program includes lectures, concerts, performances by local artists and artists visiting from Finland, dancing, sports, children's activities, as well as demonstrations and displays by various clubs and organizations. Program also includes Tori, a traditional market celebrating artisan work and entrepreneurial excellence. There will be beer garden and an outdoor stage, Finnish food and day long entertainment in the Finlandia hall and two evening dances on Friday and Saturday night. The Festival will host a fundraiser dinner with Ambassador of Finland to Canada, H.E. Charles Murto, on Saturday at the Prince Arthur Hotel.
